Chapter 1
The magical process is based on the understanding that the world is permeated by continuous streams of influence. According to sources, there is a descending path: from God to the angels, then to the celestial bodies, elements, mixed bodies, and finally to the soul of the beast.

The magician, however, ascends by moving in reverse order – from sensory perception through the elements and celestial spheres to divine operations. Ancient authors referred to these paths as the "two gates": Cancer (the gate of humans) and Capricorn (the gate of the gods).
This structure is based on two active physical elements – earth and fire – which stabilize the natural constitution.
Chapter 2
To achieve results in this discipline, a comprehensive approach is required, which the wise call a "triple string" (funiculus triplex), difficult to break. It includes:
Contemplation, cult, rituals, and purity of thought. The main foundation here is faith (fides). It must be present not only in the operator but also in the one against whom the action is directed. Without faith, even the greatest forces cannot have any effect, unless they act through force or the overcoming of natural obstacles.
Consideration of time, order, and harmony. This includes working with numbers, figures, seals, and rings.
Application of active principles to passive ones, knowledge of the properties of minerals, plants and animals.
Chapter 3
The fundamental concept of Bruno's magic is the Anima Mundi (World Soul). According to sources, the universe is a living organism in which "a single universal spirit is embedded in the entire machinery of creation.".
It is ridiculous to assume that earth or water are lifeless when they produce countless living beings.
Celestial bodies possess a rational soul, and their movements are not random but ordered and directed toward a higher goal, similar to the ideal harmony created by Apollo's lyre. Each planetary sphere has its own ruling forces: in Saturn's sky, for example, it is Amphite, and the epistemological virtue of the ninth sphere is associated with Dionysus (Bacchus).

Chapter 4
A professional magician must be an expert in chronomancy. Time governs temporal matters, just as higher bodies contain lower ones. The effects of Jupiter must be initiated under Jupiter, those of Saturn under Saturn.
In magical practice, "unequal hours" are used, in which day and night are divided into 12 parts, depending on the time of sunrise and sunset. Each hour is ruled by a specific planet in strict order (from Saturn to Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury, and Moon).
For various matters, knowledge of the spirits' names is required. For example, Armadiel and Demoriel are responsible for the north, Karnaziel for the east, and Caspiel for the south. Names and symbols (characters) often depend on the authority of the one who has been granted the power to consecrate them.

According to the sources, knowledge of the names of angels and spirits is a fundamental requirement for the successful performance of magical rituals, since all magical work is based on the hierarchical connection between the earthly world and the higher spheres.

Knowledge of names is necessary for the realization of what the sources describe as "threefold faith" (fides triplex). The operator must act "in the name and under the authority" of higher powers.
The sources emphasize that knowledge of the appropriate names is required for different matters and effects. The magical system presupposes a strict specialization of the spirits:
Each cardinal direction corresponds to its own princes (for example, Armadiel in the north, Kaspiel in the south, Karnaziel in the east).
There are separate names for spirits that control celestial bodies, zodiac signs, and even elements (for example, Michael is responsible for the east wind).
It is important to distinguish the names of good angels, who are attracted through „holy prayers“, from evil spirits or „demons“, who have a different nature.
Knowledge of names allows the magician to follow the "timetable of time" precisely, which is critically important for success.
Each day of the week and each planetary hour has its own ruling angel. For example, Michael rules the first hour of Sunday, and Gabriel rules Monday.
Using the name of a specific angel at its corresponding hour guarantees that the ritual is "on time" and does not encounter obstacles from nature.
The names of the angels are inextricably linked to characters and seals (sacred hieroglyphs).
When a name is added to a seal or ring, the object gains power. The effectiveness of these symbols depends on the authority and will of the one who consecrates them, but their foundation always lies in knowledge of a specific spiritual entity.
Thus, knowledge of names is not simply a list of words, but a key to the "ladder of nature," enabling the operator to ascend from sensory things to divine operations and to direct higher powers to achieve earthly goals.

In accordance with Giordano Bruno's treatise "On Magical Mathematics," "threefold faith" (fides triplex) is the foundation upon which the magician's connection with higher powers and his protection from negative influences are built. The protective function of faith and the magician's psychological state is realized through the following mechanisms:
According to the sources, the mind (animus) dominates the body and is a kind of "window" through which external influences enter a living being. When the magician's mind is strengthened by faith, it sets a "barrier" (obicem) and "closes the door" (ianuam occludit), thus preventing the penetration of harmful (noxiae) impressions and influences.
The threefold belief structures the magician's consciousness and ensures his safety on all levels of the "Ladder of Nature":
The sources indicate that emotions such as anger, envy, or melancholy ("sad spirit") make a person vulnerable and literally "dry the bones." A magician with unwavering faith avoids these destructive states, thus depriving evil spirits of the opportunity to cling to their psyche.
Faith is the foundation of the "universal union," through which the magician either unites with higher powers or attracts them. This union makes the magician part of the higher hierarchy and protects him from beings of a lower order, such as "unstable spirits" that fly around everywhere "like flies in the air.".
Thus, the „threefold faith“ protects the magician not simply as a formal belief, but as an active state of mind that transforms consciousness into an impregnable fortress endowed with the authority of the higher spheres.
Chapter 5
Magic is closely linked to the state of the soul. Emotions (anger, envy, joy) alter the body and act as "windows" through which various influences enter the living being. A magician must be able to arouse belief, fear, or terror in the object of their influence in order to prepare its "matter" for the introduction of the desired "form.".
According to the sources, magic is a sound science, and all complaints about it stem not from the discipline itself, but from its misapplication. It requires the practitioner to possess not only knowledge of stones, Herbs and stars, but also deep inner purity, abstinence, and the ability to, to concentrate the power of the mind.
For the wise person, these principles open the way to the greatest achievements, while for the ignorant they remain a closed book.
